U-Pick Flower Farm in Holland, NY

Gunner Gardens is a u-pick flower field. But it’s not just about picking flowers; it’s a chance to experience nature and add some beauty to your life. Flowers can provide so much joy. I often think about walking around my mom’s gardens when I was younger and her pointing out the different names of what we were seeing. I loved going out to this one garden in the spring and waiting for the Lily of the Valley to poke their heads through. When they finally did, I would get on my hands and knees and smell them over and over. It wasn’t just the smell that attracted me to Lily of the Valley; it was knowing that spring had finally arrived after a long Western New York winter.

Before growing flowers, I taught Spanish for 7 years. My husband and I then moved out to Colorado for a year, and then we traveled the country for another year in an RV. We moved back to Holland to start a family, and with the house we bought came a good chunk of land. I didn’t realize how much I wanted to grow flowers until I started thinking about what we could do with all the land potential. I thought back to my mom’s gardens and realized I also wanted flower gardens and the ability to share what I had grown with others. So here we are! Please join me for a day out in the field picking flowers and taking a bit of beauty home with you.
