Gunner Gardens is a u-pick flower field — but it’s more than just picking flowers. It’s an invitation to slow down, experience nature, and take a little beauty home with you.
Flowers have always brought me joy. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of walking through my mom’s gardens while she pointed out the names of the plants we passed. Every spring, I would wait for the Lily of the Valley to poke their heads through the soil. When they finally did, I’d get down on my hands and knees and smell them over and over again. It wasn’t just the smell that attracted me to this flower; it was knowing that spring had finally arrived!
Before growing flowers, I taught Spanish for seven years. My husband and I then spent a year living in Colorado, followed by a year traveling the country in an RV. When we moved back to Holland to start our family, the home we bought came with a beautiful stretch of land. As I dreamed about what we could do with it, I kept thinking back to my mom’s gardens, and realized how much I wanted to grow flowers of my own and share them with others.
And so, Gunner Gardens was born!
Today, Gunner Gardens is a place where families and friends can slow down together, children can explore and learn about nature, and everyone can experience the joy that flowers bring.
Cheers!
