The Language of Flowers Workshop
Uncover the secret language of blooms in this hands-on floral design class. Floriography is the historic art of communicating through flower symbolism. It was often used in the Victorian era as a way to send heartfelt messages.
The Workshop:
Arrival: Upon arrival grab some wine, tea and light refreshments and take a stroll around the flower beds.
Introduction/History: We will start with a short history of floriography and the most common meanings associated with popular flowers.
Arrangement Demonstration: There will be a wrapped bouquet demonstration for how to select, prepare, and arrange flowers.
Create Your Message: You will be given a list of available flowers and their meanings. Choose 3-4 flowers that speak to you or convey a specific message.
The Garden Experience: Head out to pick your selected flowers.
Design Your Bouquet: Return to the workspace to arrange your blooms. We will provide additional foliage and filler so you can create a beautiful and meaningful wrapped bouquet to take home.
